Kansas Contractors Association

The Kansas Contractors Association is a professional association of contractors and those who provide supplies and services to the heavy, highway and utility construction industry.   Working together,  our members promote a better industry by advancing their level of skill,  integrity and responsibility while improving the quality of life in our communities.

Insurance Program Services

Health & Dental Insurance Plan

The KCA-sponsored health care program combines basic benefits with additional comprehensive benefits to give you, the employer, coverage for a wide range of services.  Hospital, medical, surgical and dental benefits are offered by the employer for employees, their spouses and their dependents.

The Construction Industry of Kansas Health & Welfare Trust Fund program is only for association members. It is administered through Fiserv Health, with the benefits and marketing provided through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

Members have a choice of three health programs to best meet the individual needs of the member: Comprehensive Major Medical; Shared Pay Comprehensive and Blue Choice (PPO).

The program costs and rates are competitive with today's market, and benefit coverages are your choice, including: the 50/50 share pay benefit package; a managed care alternative called Blue Select; and a comprehensive major medical (CMM) package.

A four-way contract structure will also permit each employer the flexibility to choose among the following contract types: employee only; employee and spouse; employee and child(ren); and family. You tailor the program to fit your needs.

Workers' Compensation Insurance Plan

Another program, available only to association members, is the chapter sponsored Workers Compensation Insurance program administered by the Midwest Builders Casualty Mutual Insurance Company. (MWBC).  This company through the KCA offers workers' compensation insurance coverage to members wherever they work.

The program is organized as a trust and administered so that all benefits and excess revenues will flow back to the members as dividends.

This concept provides lower cost for members for the following reasons: advance discounts; all surplus in program accrues to members of the fund and will be returned to participating members according to a dividend formula; and investment income belongs to the members of the fund.

Your insurance broker can get you into the program, but you must be a member of the association!  Please call the KCA office for more information.
